In 2002, Ms. Butcher retired after 43 years of Federal Service.
She began her career in 1958 as a medical technologist, and a year later moved to Brooks AFB School of Aerospace Medicine as an Electron Microscopist and is the author of 29 published scientific papers.
In 1992, she became program manager in the Base Conversion Restoration Division where she was responsible for the restoration efforts of four Air Force Bases in Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
She is a recipient of the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award.
Minnie received her B.S. from Our Lady of the Lake University and her M.S. in biology from Incarnate Word College University of the Incarnate Word.
She is survived by her brother, Alfonso J. Butcher; sister-in-laws, Loretta Butcher and Mrs. Walter Butcher; nephews, Hank and wife, Kathy; James and wife, Judy; Thomas and wife, Andrea; Jack and Charles Butcher; nieces, Audrey and Amber Butcher; Valerie Howell; Barbara and husband, Kerry Grundish; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
