William Lee Eaves

LTC. William Lee Eaves, USAF Ret., age 65, of San Antonio, died Sunday, July 15, 2001 in San Antonio. He was born July 17, 1935, in Houston, Texas, the son of William Oscar and Wilma Ruth Bingham Eaves. He attended Texas A&M University-College Station before joining the US Air Force in 1955. He was a pilot and served a tour of duty in Japan and two tours of duty in Vietnam before retiring in 1979, and settling in San Antonio. He worked as a pilot for several years before entering the real estate business and was a Realtor at Bradfield Properties at the time of his death. He volunteered in the Elf Louise Christmas program. He married the late Shirley Jean Herto in 1958 and the late Rita June Girling in 1990. He is survived by a daughter, Lee Ann Allers of San Antonio; three sons, Robert K. Eaves and wife Candy, William D. Eaves and wife Julie, and Mark A. Eaves, all of Port Charlotte, FL; a granddaughter, Sarah Eaves of San Antonio; a sister, Janey E. Joyce of San Antonio; and a step-brother, Sidney Mayo of Carlsbad, CA.
