Rex was born in Atlantic, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received his doctorate at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO, where he graduated Cum Laude.
In 1981 he married Janet Nothern. They have resided in San Antonio, Texas for the last 21 years where he first established his chiropractic practice and later was CEO of a private imaging company.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Clinton Rex Fogarty and his granddaughter, Faith Fogarty. Survivors include his wife, Janet Nothern Fogarty; son, Patrick and wife Melissa; and his cousin, Gene Kerns.
Memorials may be sent to any "no-kill" animal shelter in Rex's name.
