

Mr. Hartnett was born in Marfa Texas to William and Beatrice Hartnett on December 25, 1930. He went to school at Marfa Texas. He married Elodia Urista on July 24, 1953 in Marfa Texas. He worked as a Produce Manager for Safeway for 35yrs. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army. He was involved in his church, St. Catherines as a Knights of Columbus and a Eucharist Minister.
Mr. Hartnett is preceded in death by parents, William and Beatrice Hartnett, sisters Margaret Rojo and Elizabeth Garcia, and brother Robert Hartnett.
Mr. Hartnett is survived by wife Elodia U. Hartnett, daughters Betty Farnum/spouse Dee Farnum and Diana Salcido/spouse Danny Salcido, Grandchildren Ernie Farnum, Jessica Madrid, and Jayme Rodriguez. Great Grandchildren Milla and Emily Madrid.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons Ernie Farnum and Jayme Rodriguez, Son-in-laws Danny Salcido and Dee Farnum, Cousins, Jimmy Dutchover and Mitch Lyles.
A visitation for William will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 9883 Marbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245 with Father Bibin Abraham officiating. A committal service will follow on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209 with military honors.
