

William (Bill) G. Heller, 75, passed away Saturday, August 12 in San Antonio, Texas as a result of complications from lymphoma. Born in Akron, Ohio, Bill was a graduate of Ohio University, taught at Garfield Heights (Ohio) High School for 32 years, and was volunteer fireman/EMT for Northfield Center Fire Department (Ohio) for 20 years.
He retired to Marathon, Florida to continue his love of boating. His favorite pastime when he lived in the Keys was fishing for mahi-mahi, throwing out an anchor to swim in the clear waters or being with friends in Key West. He then moved to Padre Island, Texas to be close to his children and grandchildren. Bill loved spending as much time outside as possible, most days you could find him with his wife on his boat cruising down the canals or chilling at the beach with wife, children and grandchildren.
Bill adored his family and loved and valued the wonderful friendships he made over his lifetime. Married for 53 years, Bill is survived by his wife, Etta Jane; daughters and sons-in-law Bethany and Les Megyesi and Lori and Brian Gibson; and 5 granddaughters, Katelynn and Tayla Megyesi and Riley, Avery and Zoe Gibson; extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
