William Edward Holmes

William Edward Holmes, age 88, passed away April 30, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 15, 1930 in Salem, New Jersey to David and Nellie Washington Holmes. He was a U.S. Army Retired 1SG, serving proudly for his country and also retired from civil service. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Ann Holmes and Toy Renee Besel; brothers, James Holmes and wife Patricia, Rudie Holmes and wife Vi; sisters, Sally Dickerson and husband Clark, Juanita Robinson and husband Neal; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. with a funeral service at 12:00 P.M., Pastor Bruce A. Proctor officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, with U.S. Army military honors
