

William Joseph Kasberg, born on May 5, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love. William was born to Judy Richter (now Judy Himelrick) and William Kasberg Sr. He was raised in Panama City, Florida, by Judy and her husband, Ralph Himelrick, where he spent his formative years.
William attended Rutherford High School in Panama City until his junior year before returning to San Antonio, where he graduated from Judson High School in 1986. A proud member of the ROTC during his high school years, William developed a sense of duty and commitment early in life.
Shortly after graduation, William joined the United States Air Force, where he served as a military dog handler. His service took him to various parts of the world, including Guam, Panama, and Australia. Over the course of his eight-year military career, William served his country with honor and was honorably discharged in 1994.
In 1995, William embarked on a remarkable 30-year career in law enforcement with the San Antonio Police Department. During his distinguished tenure, he received multiple life-saving awards and became a trailblazer by creating the city’s first Mental Health Unit, which has since become a vital resource for the community. He dedicated much of his career to the DWI Enforcement Unit, working tirelessly to make the roads safer for all. His unwavering commitment to his role made him a pillar of the department and a respected leader among his peers.
Beyond his professional achievements, William was a devoted single parent to his two children, Kevan and Kasey Kasberg, whom he adored. Known for his infectious humor and ability to light up any room, William was not only a beloved father but also a cherished friend. His warmth, laughter, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
William is survived by his children, Kasey and Kevan Kasberg, and his loving parents, Judy and Ralph Himelrick.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his extraordinary service to his country and community, and his unwavering love for his family.
