A modest man of integrity, acceptance and love went to be with our Lord on April 3, 2017. William (Bill) R. Mitchell was born on February 24, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, to Thomas and Gladys Mitchell. He loved the titles of husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. All ages found him to be a joy and continually asked for just one more silly saying or joke.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eileen Hafer and brother Thomas Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Lottie Mitchell, daughter Linda Zarakas, son-in-law James Vasquez and daughter Martha Dowlearn. Also grandchildren and their families; Jodi Rogers, husband Jason Rogers, children Bradyn, Chloe, Devean, T’Ana, Talia; Brady Dowlearn, wife Elizabeth, children Addisyn, Ryan, Cambry; and wonderful nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, and funeral service is 12:00 noon Monday, April 10, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
