'I generally saw Uncle Bill once a year, at the Thanksgiving get-together. I was always glad to hear that he and Aunt Cathy were coming. He was the kind of person that could captivate the whole table and when he laughed his great belly laugh you couldnt help but laugh with him. Thanksgiving will not be the same without him.'

As I grew older, the time spent together with him and his wife became shorter, but more memorable and emotional. His excitement for the arrival of the new addition to my family and the celebration of my wedding day remains in my heart, even though he won't be there to kiss me on the cheek and formally meet my son. I know that he will be with me and the rest of my family, keeping us safe because that is the type of person he was, always looking out for others. I know that he is looking down on us every day and I know that he will be my guardian angel. 
There are many people that we meet in our lives, but only a few are worth getting to know. Bill was one of them.

He had an easy laugh and always made you feel welcome, except when he would need to come running down the stairs to the basement to see what us kids had gotten into. It won't be the same without him. But it was sure great for me and my family to have known him, and for me to have had him for an uncle. For that I have been blessed indeed, and I will forever cherish my memories of him.'
