
He was born in Spangler, PA, on March 20, 1927, to Clement and Genevieve Kirkpatrick.
Kirk entered St. Vincent's Monastery in Latrobe, PA, where he was a Benedictine monk for 8 years. He then joined the US Air Force at Lackland AFB, where he later became a Commissioned Officer working in the Intelligence Community.
In 1950 he married Carole Grace Aiken. Kirk earned a Bachelor's Degree in philosophy from St. Mary's University. He retired from Wright-Patterson AFB in 1979 and moved to Boerne, where he concentrated his time on history and genealogy. In 1993 they moved to San Antonio because of his devotion to Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church. He came full circle, doing what he loved by becoming a sacristan for his church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole; and 3 brothers.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Kathleen Marie Benzaquen and her husband, Jeffrey of San Antonio, and Rebecca Ann Cash and her husband, Barney of Boerne; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers.
