My deepest Sympathy to the Family of Bill Roegelien

Sending our deepest sympathy to you and your families on the loss of your Dad. 
You are all being remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Carol, You may remember that I worked for your dad WAY back in 66. I lived at 251 Rockhill. Your dad was a kind man. Just wanted you to know that others thought he was a special person.

Ellen and Carol, wanted you know you are in our thoughts. 
 Our parents had so many years of great friendship together, we should all be so lucky. The Texas coast has never been the same without that fun group of people. I would suspect Reg, Bill and Betty have had a martini by now!

Bill and I were both past presidents of SAMA. I loved working with him. Many years ago I did a B-B-Que for 150 people at my home. Thanks to Bill's advice and guidance, it was a booming success. I'll always owe him for that. I'll miss him.

I remember Mr. Roegelein from the 100 Club. My son is a trust fund recipient of the 100 Club. His father was a Balcones Heights Police Officer that was killed in the line of duty in 1989. I remember meeting Mr. Roegelein at one of the club's luncheons and I recall sitting with him several times. He was always caring and concerned for my son and interested in what he was doing. My son is now 17. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family.

I met Mr. Roegelein in 1983. I worked a temporary position for him at the Company. He was a gentleman and a fine person. My sincerest sympathy.

My father bought all the meats for the Kelly Field Officer?s Club as the Club Manager from 1927 through 1934 from the Roegelein Butcher Shop on East Commerce. My mother and father became especially friendly with Bill?s mother and father. We would go to their home on Saturdays. My Mom and Dad would play cards until late at night, and Cleo and I would be ?stacked? in one of their beds. In the summer of 1934 and 1935, I would stay with you kids for a month or so. Billy was older than I while my sister Cleo, was about the same age and Billy and was her secret heart-throb. Lawrence was my buddy and last was Grace who was a ?little pest? following Lawrence and I around burning wasp nests and walking down to Broadway to get those super large malts at the ice cream store. Those days were some of the best Cleo and I had in our youth. Cleo is still alive and living in Reno. She will be sorry to hear of Bill's passing away. I did see you, Grace, at Incarnate College when I was dating some girls there in the Nurses School. That was way back in 1946 As happens in our lives, we lost touch with your family as our paths took different roads,and I wish we had kept in touch.. Grace, take care of yourself , and I pray you have a wonderful life. James Junior Eaton and my wife Lillie, wish to express our heartfelt sorrow at the passing of Bill.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your beloved father. Although I'm not related, I'd like to share a few biblical thoughts for your family at this difficult time. The scriptures I'd like to share is how Jehovah God is a God of mercy and comfort. He is near to those who are broken and crushed in spirit. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4; Psalms 34:18 Knowing that when a loved one dies, it hurts that you won't be able to talk, laugh or hold them again, but the Bible assures us in the near future you'll be reunited with them again, for just as Jesus resurrected Lazarus this powerful act will be fulfilled on a grander scale. John 5:21,28,29 The Bible is the greatest source of comfort for all those who especially want to know more about mankind's future. In Revelation 21:1-4 speaks of a time when there will be no more death, mourning, nor pain be anymore. It is my hope that these scriptures comfort you in a great way, for they do the same for me since I too lost my father. With sympathy, Mrs. Leija

Bill was a Mentor and dedicated leader in the San Antonio Power Squadron, District 21 and the National United States Power Squadron. His views were strong and always in his view the best for all in this orgainzation. His dedication was 100%. I personally looked up to him and spent time with him to learn about USPS. I, haveing just completed my time as District Commander in the footsteps of Bill recently being at the Annual meeting, again visited with an old friend of Bill's past Chief Commander of USPS,James Jim Stewart. Every year he has sought me out to inquire about Bill and his health and he always reminded me of small things they did together in years past. 
A post script, my father and Bills father tended the respective Roegelein and Helmke gravesites on the old Herman Sons Cemetery over 30 years ago and had a visit with each other once a week. They did not know each other in any other way, but my dad often spoke about this. 
My wife Jackie and I will always remember Bill and Betty Roegelein.
