William James Winkler, 81, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, in San Antonio. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on May 24, 1933 to William and Isabelle Winkler. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time in the kitchen baking bread and brewing his own beer. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. William is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Jane Winkler; a son, Nicholas B. Winkler and his wife Lillian; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Salinas and Emily Winkler; 3 grandchildren, Willow Winkler, Antonio Salinas, and Mateo Salinas; a sister, Jeanne Rost; in-laws Mimi and Bud Shepard and Sally and Don Bryant; a former son-in-law, Jose Salinas and his wife Elizabeth Mann; dear family friends Willie Satterwhite and Adele Satterwhite; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
