A winner in Life, a winner in Love, Willy went on to continue his winning ways in the house of his Savior. A Fox Tech half back and school legend, Willy often spoke of the final game and his winning touchdown that took the school to the championship. His letter jacket still hangs at his home. A dedicated Dad, Willy raised four children and would always tell his kids "be smart, study hard, stay on top". That legacy continued with his grandchildren and his great-grandchild.
Willy managed a lifetime career with Merchant Products as a salesman. Willy knew no strangers. Everyone was welcome in his home. To him all his years were golden. He never let life's trials keep him down. Those who knew him well knew he was famous for his story telling.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Helen Almaraz; father, John Almaraz; mother, Mary Botello Almaraz.
He is survived by his daughters, Belinda Holm (Danny), Theresa Lucas (Bill), Yvonne Gomez (Albert) and his son, Bill Almaraz (Laurie). Papu's treasured and most precious blessings were his grandchildren, Zachary & Priscilla Holm, Michael & Thomas Lucas, Michelle & Rob Gomez, Ashley Johnson (Ryan), Megan Almaraz, Jordan Almaraz and his great-grandchild, Chase Bentley Almaraz. Papu, cheers to your new life…we will see you later!
