Yolanda was born at DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas on August 16th, 1991, to Nick Bravo Cordova Guerra, Jr., and Virginia (Buenrostro) Guerra.
She grew up with her older brother, Nick Andrew Guerra; her younger sister, Victoria Ann (Guerra) Temple; and her cousins, Richard Alex Garcia, Ricky Isaac Garcia (Pookie Bear), and Christopher Jacob Castellano (CJ).
In her teenage years, she enjoyed going to concerts with her sister, as well as her best friend, Elisa.
Yolanda was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys every Sunday with her daddy. She was daddy’s girl.
Yolanda also loved watching Law and Order SVU (she was a huge Olivia Benson fan) with her mom.
She attended Judson High School in Converse, Texas where she played the flute in the Judson Marching band.
In December 2017, she graduated from St. Philip’s College with degrees in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Restaurant Management under the supervision of her favorite chef/instructor Patrick Costello. While at St. Philip’s, she received many awards and accolades, won several culinary competitions where her recipes were featured at local prestigious restaurants, and was selected twice to represent the college traveling to Paris, France in the Trans-Atlantic Culinary Exchange. All this allowed Yolanda to open Hello Sweetie Creations, LLC - her beloved bakery established in 2018.
Yolanda eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Noe Robert Acevedo, III, at the foot of Santa Elena’s Canyon in Big Bend National Park on August 14, 2022.
Beginning her journey home through baptism, Yoli yearned for her faith and found solace and strength in her beliefs, becoming a model of the faith that inspires us all to draw closer to the lord.
Though cancer ultimately claimed our beloved Yoli, she remained a beacon of hope and grace.
In her final days she still had her sense of humor and drive.
Yolanda will be remembered as a loyal friend, loving daughter, wife, and sister.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Nick B.C. Guerra, Sr. and paternal grandmother, Olivia Valverde; uncle, Richard Acosta; great grandmother, Porfiria Cordova Guerra; and cousin, Richard Alex Garcia.
