My condolences to Andrew and my cousins Andy and Brian on their loss of such a beautiful being, mother and wife. I was blessed to have memories of my aunt Yolanda's sweet nature, love for family and radiant smile. It is something I will forever cherish and that I will dearly miss.

I light this candle, so that your journey to be with our Lord will be with peace and light.  I hold our precious memories dear to me!  You will live in my heart till we see each other again in heaven. Guide us while you are up there as you did when we were kids.  I love you with all my heart and it hurts terribly already...

I want to Thank you'all, Ester, Eva, Ivy, nieces and nephews, and friends and family that came to Yollie's bedside on Sunday to be with her as she crossed over.  My boys, Andy and Brian, were exceptional in guiding me thru that day.  Of course, the Lord was carrying me again.
Thank you as well for coming to her home most every Sunday and having mini parties with Yollie.  She really enjoyed visiting with you'all, and Renee and Ben, when they were able to visit.
Yollie and I met in 1973, married in 1977 and had 39 yrs of marriage and lots and lots of happy days together.  She loved dancing, so we did a lot of that.  She supported me in my work until I retired.  When I was called to active duty in 2001, I thought she would be really upset.  When I told her the news, all she asked was, what uniforms do you want me to get ready for you.  It was the same with my civilian job and travel.  She would just ask, what suits should I get ready for you.
I have absolutely no complaints concerning our long, wonderful life together.  Yes, she was a beauty and I did break in to the head of the line of suitors. So Renee, too bad, so sad, for them. 
Our two boys Andy and Brian are the proudest part of her life.  She took the very best care of them and they reciprocated when she took ill.  Thank you, gentlemen.
So on Monday and Tuesday, please join me in celebrating the privilege of having had this beautiful spirit in our lives.

Anyone who asks my Mom about my Aunt Yolanda, who knew her from high school, is always inserting ANOTHER admission of having a crush on her, or their brother had a crush on her, or they CLAIM to have dated her, and they AL WAYS remark on her astonishing beauty, which they still remember thru the haze of time. She was the first reason why my grandfather parked his lounger right in front of the front door and beside the bedroom windows. He had to shoot away the love sick admirers passing by and cat calling at his beautiful daughters. With the flowers in her hair and sparkling smile, she could cause a traffic jam by simply stepping out of her front door.  She would make my mom mixed tapes, which my mom insists on listening to,  instead of the loaded up ipod I bought her. She made my Mom placemats for her dining room table. She sewed my cousin Valley dresses. She made delicious cakes for every occasion, which no one in my family can seem to replicate. Christmas will never be the same without her rum balls. I will aways use her pie crust receipe.  Her escalating illnesses did not dimish her power to inspire. She could still laugh with her siblings and smile at her husband and sons with pure love. I have little doubt, that just above us, Marilyn Monroe is sulking. Elvis Pressly and James Dean are fighting for the next dance with my aunt, while my uncle Ben's sings, so their parents and sister can celebrate their happy reunion.

I will miss her dearly.  She was a fighter and would not give up on life. But the Lord had other plans for. her .  Andrew,  I want to thank you  for taking care of my sister. You and Brian and Andy did a great job giving my sister what she needed. My family and I  are sorry for your loss sincerely.  God bless you and we are all still family.
