

Yvonne was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Norman Harwell and Joyce Harwell on November 19th, 1955. She attended school at Gen. H.H. Arnold in Wiesbaden, Germany, and Alamo Heights in San Antonio, Texas. She married Julian Mack Sepeda on March 3rd, 2003, at the San Antonio Shriner Auditorium. Yvonne graduated from St. Philip’s College in 1978. She worked as a nurse for Humana, Dr. Sanner, Austin Hwy Clinic, San Antonio Kidney Disease Center, Comfort Care, and for Sean Elliott of the San Antonio Spurs. Over the course of 30 years, she enjoyed a distinguished career marked by longevity and numerous accomplishments. She retired from nursing doing geriatric home nursing. She specialized in wound care and diabetic care. She had a passion for nursing and carried it with her throughout her life.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Julian Mack Sepeda; her father, Norman Harwell; and her mother, Joyce Juliet Harwell.
Yvonne is survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Renée Garza Perez and Javier Perez, Chelsea Marie Garza and Ruben Garza; her great-grandson, Isaac Antonio Garza (Peanut). Her daughter, Cristen Shimen Garza; her stepson, Jason Sepeda, and his wife, Carmelita Reyna-Sepeda; her three
siblings, Wayne Harwell, Michelle Williams, and Sharon Hull
Pallbearers will be Javier Perez, Ruben Garza, Fernando (JR) Galvan, Wayne Harwell, Fred Williams, and Jason Sepeda.
Family visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., and the general public visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Austin Hwy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home with Deacon Tim Tate of St. Thomas More Church officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.
The family of Yvonne Sepeda wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to all who were part of her life. Yvonne loved her family and friends with all her heart, and she would want you to know that while this is a difficult time, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts and minds. She was always ready to share a laugh or a good story, and her adventurous spirit inspired those around her. As we honor her memory, we carry her with us always. Yvonne was an incredible woman, and she will be deeply missed.
