He was born on August 18th, 1930 to Jesus Palos Valadez and Refugio “Cuca” Mindiola. He
was raised by Esequiel “Kelly” and Altogracia “Alta” Mindiola in a small neighborhood called La
Bonita Gardens in Houston, TX.
He joined the army on September 21st, 1948, and served during the Korean War. He moved
his family to California in the 1950s. After working at the Stater Bros. warehouse for over 20 years
he retired as a meat cutter.
He was preceded in death by his wife Candida, his parents, and several brothers and sisters including Lazaro and Sara, grandson Edward Jr., and great-granddaughter Sierra Skye. He is survived by his brother Robert and sisters Ruth and Mickie, his three children David (Linda), Edward (Rosemary), Candy (Victor), and seven grandchildren: Sandra, David III, Stephanie, Victoria, Candida, Aaron, Sonseeahray, sixteen great-grandchildren and his companion Petra Cardenas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday: August 7th, 2024 from 3 pm to 7 pm with a Rosary at 6
pm at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery: 570 E. Highland Ave San Bernardino CA. 92404. A funeral
service will be held on Thursday: August 8th, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 am: 1640
Western Ave. San Bernardino CA. 92411. The burial to follow will be private.
