

David Charles Presley was born the third of 5 children born to Postell and Harry Presley (deceased) in Richmond Kentucky on September 5th 1940. Siblings, Maurice Presley (deceased), Norma J. Turner, Gwendolyn E. Eakins and Rhonda L. Hill all of Cincinnati, OH.
David was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church of Richmond, KY. David's parents relocated the family to Lincoln Heights, Ohio. David attended Mt Moriah Baptist Church and went to Lincoln Heights public school. By Junior High the family again relocated to Avondale a nearby neighborhood located in Cincinnati Ohio, where he attended Samuel Ach Junior High and Hughes High School upon graduation he was then enlisted in the United States Air Froce.
David met Peggy McCullough in Greenville, South Carolina while stationed at Donaldson Air Force base. They entered into marriage on October 26, 1962. This union produced 4 children, Orlando, Rhonda, David Jr and April. David served in the US Air Force for 26 years. During this time he achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southern Illinois University in 1990 where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic and Flight Engineer and later worked as an Aeronautics Mechanic at Chaffey College. He retired and worked at Rockwell until they went out of business, he then transferred to McDonald Douglas where he entered his 2nd retirement after 10 years with the company.
David Presley was a longstanding member of St Paul A.M.E Church where he served as an usher board trustee.
In the early 80's David became a member of Elks Social Club and later became a member of Post 14 where he then became the Commander for several yearly terms.
David will be remembered as a man with strong convictions which he spoke of often with determination. He was a proud man and the epitome of a dapper gentlemen and was always ready to make conversation and talk to just about anybody.
David was comfortable in his own skin and enjoyed the solitude of his den. If you were privileged to be invited into his space you knew you were in for a history lesson and a debate on any topic. However you also knew that you were in the presence of a man at peace with God and himself.
He leaves to cherish, his wife Peggy (McCullough) Presley of San Bernardino, CA, 3 sisters Norma J. Turner, Gwendolyn E. Eakins and Rhonda L. Hill all of Cincinnati, OH and 1 brother Maurice Presley (deceased), 2 Aunts Sara and Ruth Ferrell of Richmond, KY. Four children, Orlando Presley and daughter in love Arlene, Rhonda Presley, David Presley Jr and daughter in love Cecilia, and April Bellemy- Creed and son in love Derrick of San Bernardino, CA. 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
