I have many fond memories of her taking care of me when I was a child; we would walk to the park, she’d take me to the local convenient store to pick out any sweet treats I wanted, she would take me to Market Night every Thursday to get kettle corn and check out the local art work, and my most memorable memory is every time I went to her house, she had chocolate gold coins waiting for me in the kitchen junk drawer. 
She had strong faith in the Lord and never ceased praying for all her children and grandchildren. 
Originally from Pennsylvania, she moved to Southern California where she lived the rest of her life. She was an incredible artist, writer, and poet. She felt deeply and always told me that I was her favorite granddaughter.
Yai-Yai may you finally rest in peace, I know your last days weren’t easy as you lost all sight, and getting up and getting around was extremely difficult. You were loved by friends and family.

My mother was a complex and deeply creative soul. While our relationship had more challenges than that, she was always my mother, and I loved her. She was a gifted artist and a beautiful poet, and some of my earliest, and most cherished memories are of watching her paint when I was young; it felt magical to me then, and it still does know.

The distance meant she did not have the opportunity to build a close relationship with my children, I know her faith, compassion, and creativity, touched many lives. She found joy in creating beauty and expressing her heart through art and words. She will be remembered through her poetry, her paintings, and loving spirit so many were blessed to know.
