

Frieda Caroline Ficke Allan was born June 20, 1917, and raised in San Bernardino. She lived in only 2 houses her time in S.B. Until she moved to her daughter(Noralyn) and son-in-law (Jim's) home in Indio when she was 94.
When she was young, she was an avid roller skater always winning trophies. She graduated from San Bernardino High School, San Bernardino Valley College and Long Mires Business College.
She was secretary for the Federal Receiver for the California Hotel during it's bankruptcy. The hotel was purchased by J. Dale Gentry where she operated the switchboard. She would give the Pittsburgh Pirates their morning call when they were in town for spring training.
She worked for the American National Bank. When it became Bank of California, she was secretary to the president.
She married R. Stanley Allan on February 8, 1947.
She loved music, flowers, gardening and reading. She loved being with family and friends. She had 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters-in-law, 4 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren.
She had a love of the mountains and enjoyed going to the family cabin.
She was born, baptized and confirmed a Missouri Synod Lutheran. Her mother and later she was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church San Bernardino.
