Uncle Leon, Shirley, Pearlie, Nathaniel Sr., James Charles, Leander, Leon (Ricky) preceded him in death.
Gary grew up in Fontana CA, after leaving Los Angeles with his parents, attedned the local schools, but Fontana High School (GOHI) was a major turning point in his life, he got into that game called Football, and received a full scholarship to college, he left Fontana he attended Washington State University.
Gary and his wife Barbara met and later had a son, Gary's only child (Marcus) they stay together for 30+ years, Gary became a stepfather to: La' Cherri, Owen, Jamar, and Normal Jr. who he loved as if they were his own.
Gary left Football at Washington State (he got Hurt) and returned to Fontana and began working odd jobs, and working for the city, until he got the job at Yucaipa High School as School Police, he stayed at that job until he retired after 30 years.
Gary enjoyed taking little short trips w/his wife and son, spending time with family, and watching Sports on TV, and meeting up with his Washington State Team mates for get togetherns when he could.
Gary leaves behind a loving wife and son, and stepchildren, 8 grand kids, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces and friends.
Barbara and Marcus would like to thank everyone for the kind words, and heartfelt condolences during this very hard time.
And to the fellas (teammates) thanks so much for checking and helping out and being there for Marcus. I know Gary has a big smile on his face right now.
