Well Uncle Chon it marks your half way from when you left us, especially my Mama, she misses you so much, and so do I, miss the call for lunch or just anything you needed, but more lunch, listening to your stories, can’t believe March is just around the Corner and your Birthday just past in December 12,  my Mama is doing ok, she hanging in there she’s a tough cookie, will be there Sunday to see you and my Papa, it’s his Birthday and Grandpa Reyes just past my mama said, still can’t believe your gone, 😞🥺😔😢😪🙏😞🎂🎈

So, Uncle Chon, you finally got your Headstone, came out nice, hope you like it, I  know you always loved drawing pictures of Virgin Mary, when you drew your pictures and cars , not the same anymore I’m used to you calling me asking to take you lunch because you were hungry and hated the food at Convalescent Hospital and I would of I would take you lunch anyways but at times you were sleeping, so I’d leave it on your table, because I didn’t want to wake you, my Mama misses you, she took it hard when you left her, she’s by herself now, no one to talk to on the phone when you called or we called to check on you, she’d talk to you or FaceTime you, I took it hard because I also took care of  you made sure you had what you needed visited you, heard your stories, even you fighting with other roomies, wish you were still here my mama wishes you were hear, tell my Papa, we’re doing ok, that we’re still trying to process that he’s not here either we’ll as they say it’s not good bye it’s see you later alligator. My uncle “ Chon”, a man who never complained, even though I saw how hard a life he had. I watched as my grandma did everything she could to provide for him, then I watched my mom take care of you then my little sister. As was mentioned he loved painting cars especially his beloved “ bomb “that he painted so many times I lost count. For someone that self taught on painting cars he was really good, murals he was wanting by many in the neighborhood of 8th street anyone that had a low rider that wanted it painted was looking for him. I would visit him at his home many times during the week just to check on him, buy him a burger or burritos, catch him pounding on that worn out punching bag he had. He always had those stories of what’s going on in the neighborhood, or his old stories from way back in the days, you always had to pay attention since he always spoke in that low voice of his and that giggle he had when he said something funny. Another peice  of our past is gone till we meet again.

To My Uncle Chon (Chones), is what you would say on the phone, I’m really going to miss you,  it hurts to see that I won’t be getting your phone calls to take you lunch when you were hungry because you hated to food at convalescent hospital, and when I go to drop it off you be talking about the other patients there, or just stories you had from long time ago, or commercials of something you saw on tv that you wanted to try out,  you’d ask how my mama and everyone at home was, and you say tell them I love them, we even faced time couple times so you could talk to my mama your sister so you could see each other, because you didn’t want her to come visit because you were afraid for her to fall, I would go in and you be drawing or reading your Bible, or napping I would ask what you did that day and you tell me, Never did I think you were going to leave us like this, it was all of a sudden you never had any problems till now, it even hurts more my mama is by herself none of her syblings are left, if anyone knows my uncle he had a passion for painting cars and murals on  them he was good at what he did he might of took a long time to finish but he took his time till it was right, and that’s what he would do with his drawing he had problem with his hands so his pictures weren’t quite how they used to be, I’m going to miss all of that wish you were still here I never thought I’d be doing arrangements for you I’m sad heart broken me and my mother took care of you we were your voice when they could understand you because you talked low, you left so many nieces and nephews behind that new you and those that didn’t, I wish I could bring you back.🥺😞😔🕊️🕊️ love Yolanda your niece😞😔😢🥺
