Richard Brent Jones

Rick was born in 1946 to Richard and Marjorie Jones. He was the 2nd of four children. He graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Marketing in 1969. He met his wife LeAnn while at the school. They married in 1969 in Minnesota.

Rick worked for several companies including an asphalt company and General Telephone before moving to California and finding his true calling in the lighting industry. He worked as a National Sales Manager for a lighting company before striking out on his own. He ran his own Lighting Plastics company with his wife for many years before selling it and starting his own sales agency specializing in OEM lighting products. He was known throughout the industry for his product knowledge and his willingness to help others.

Rick was a devoted father, husband and grandfather. He coached soccer and was also the Club President for Diamond Bar United Soccer Club in the early 1980’s. He also helped coach Baseball and was known as Rick “Pipes” Jones for his favorite saying, “throw it down the pipe”. He also started a youth golfing program out of Diamond Bar Country Club in the late 1980’s.

Later in life he developed a love of karaoke and was known for singing his favorite song, “What A Wonderful World”. It was a song and moto he lived his life by. Always kind to others, mentoring others in his industry and always ready with a great story, a smile, and a laugh.

Rick moved to the Lake Arrowhead area in 1995 and loved the mountains. He loved to walk the woods with his dog. He also enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds eating the peanuts he would put out on his deck for them. He was a spiritual man that joined the choir at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Arrowhead. He is survived by his wife LeAnn, brothers Jeff and Kent and sister Gail. Rick has two son’s, Bryan and Aaron. He has 6 Grandchildren, Arielle, Nicholas, Ashley, Ethan, Morgan and Matthew.
