Roger Harold Sutherland

Roger Harold Sutherland, age 80, of Mentone, California passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Roger was born May 18, 1941 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to parents Harold and Leila Sutherland. The family relocated from South Dakota to San Bernardino County, California in his early childhood.

Roger’s long-time partner, Jimalene Clore, age 61, of Mentone, California, passed away on April 12, 2021. Roger’s older brother, James Ronald Sutherland, age 88, of San Bernardino, California, passed away on October 7, 2021.

Roger married his former wife, Linda Louise Sutherland, in 1961. They had two children, Brian Keith Sutherland and Har Kaur Khalsa (born Cristy Ann Sutherland).

Roger was a veteran of the U.S Army, and was stationed in Germany. After discharge, he earned an associates degree from Valley College and worked at his father-in-law’s record store, Lyle’s Record City. He went on to spend his working career as a real estate appraiser for the county of San Bernardino.

Roger loved fishing, reading books and watching movies.

Roger is survived by his children, Brian Sutherland and Har Kaur Khalsa (born Cristy Ann Sutherland), his grandchildren, Ryne Sutherland, Aubrianne Cruz, and Anand Khalsa, his son-in-law Gurusimrin Khalsa, his former wife, Linda Sutherland, and his Catalina Macaw, Rigley.

A memorial service for Roger will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mt. View Mortuary, 570 E Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404. Following the memorial service will be a commital service at 12:30 PM.
