arms of her beloved late husband Rodney and daughter Linda. Virginia was born and raised in Pottsville,
Pennsylvania, to Bessie (Smith) Ryan, and Edward Ryan. She grew up in a time when you made do with
what you had, and she and made sure her kids knew their family’s story. She had a very full life, one
that keeps giving us wonderful memories, and life lessons.
She had a passion for reading, mostly mysteries and love stories, and still loved visiting with her friends
and family daily. She made a mean pan of fudge, and if you were Lucky, enough you got a piece, or even
better, got to lick the spoon. She enjoyed traveling across country on road trips to visit with family and
friends, and loved going to the beach, she enjoyed knitting and could whip up a pair of cherished knitted
slippers just in time for Christmas, these are just a few of her many talents. We will miss the stories…
She had a bunch of them, and shared often. We will miss her laugh and the “Mom Look” and everything
about her. Virginia is survived, by her brother William Ryan (Weezie), of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, and her
children, Steve (Peggy), Kelly (Rena), Sean and Randy, and many, many Grandchildren.
Virginia will be laid to rest beside her husband Rodney at Riverside National Cemetery.
