Alden V. Holmes, Capt. USN (Ret.) SAN DIEGO -- Alden Vaughan Holmes, longtime resident of San Diego, passed quietly in his home on August 13, 2015 at the age of 94. He was born to William and Laura Holmes in Pawtucket, RI. He served 47 years in the Navy as a Physician and was stationed in Japan, Egypt, Virginia, Florida, and California. In 1988, he retired from the Navy. He was an avid supporter of Boy Scouts and served as Scoutmaster for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor, and their 8 children.
Services will be held at Miramar National Cemetery.
