

Andres “Andy” Gilberto Bonilla of Lemon Grove, California passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, December 30th at the age of 59. Andy battled cancer over the summer and was a true fighter and champion over this horrible disease. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Hewas predeceased by his Dad Gilberto Bonilla, and is survived by his Mom Alice Bonilla, his sisters Olivia Bonilla Curley (Kevin), Rosa Correia (Jesse), and Maria Elena Bonilla, his brothers Rudy Bonilla (Ali) and Gilbert Bonilla; his nephews Timothy Curley (Luvia), Thomas Curley, Matthew Curley, Mark Curley (Sydney), Lawrence Bonilla, Jake Correia; his nieces Marcelina Calvan (Jared), Marissa Correia, Alicia Bonilla; great nephews Justin Garza, Emmett Garza, and Kevin Curley; great nieces Isabella and Julianna Curley, Makayla and Mia Calvan.
Andy was a big San Diego Chargers and Padres fan. He was very family oriented and helped raise his nephews and nieces. His Mom was always first in his life. Andy graduated with honors from Helix High School in 1979. He then earned a degree in Electronics at Coleman College and was employed at Datagraphix. He worked hard for many years to help support his family and would help his large extended family of many aunts, uncles and cousins.
