Andrew DeMaria

Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Savlatore and Lucia DeMaria. Also by his brothers Pete, John, Dominic and sister Sadie Principato.

Survivors include his wife Ann DeMaria; two brothers, Vito and his wife Roselia DeMaria and Mario DeMaria ; one son Salvatore DeMaria (Nancy); three daughters Maryann Purviance (Thomas) , Louann Ghio (Joseph), and Roseann Cefalu (John).

He had nine grandchildren; Nicole, Andrew, Alexandra DeMaria; Nicholas (Mallory) and Brittany Purviance (Luca Nordio); Joseph (Leah) and Anthony Ghio; Dominique and Anthony Cefalu and two great-granddaughters; Jemma Ghio and Grace Purviance.

Born in San Diego, grew up in Little Italy, in his younger days he worked with his father and brothers as a fisherman on their family boat. He married Ann Locastro from St. Louis Mo. in 1952. They were happily married for 63 years. Andrew retired in San Diego as a Produce Manager at Ralphs Grocery after 35 years.

A viewing will be held Thursday April 9 , 2015, from 4pm- 7pm at Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary (3655 5th Ave. San Diego 92013) , followed by a Rosary at 7pm.

Funeral Services will be held for Andrew DeMaria on Friday April 10, 2015 at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of the Rosary Church (1668 State St).
