Arthur Francis Volpe, age 89, the son of Dolinda and Francis Volpe of Elizabeth, PA died on October 26, 2025 after a short stay at UCSD Hillcrest Hospital. Arthur is survived by his wife of 66 years Deanna (Cipranic) Volpe, along with his 2 daughters Berni (Dale) Verikas and Valerie (Bart Fuller) Volpe. He is the cherished grandfather of Kody Verikas and Alexander (Andrea) Verikas as well as Great-Grandfather of Gia Anne Verikas. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Greg) Rayman, and brother Francis (Suzanne) Volpe along with many nieces and nephews including Gary Burke, whose steadfast support was especially meaningful in Art’s later years. When Art and Deanna moved to California, they were blessed to make friendships that became like family—especially with the Sakasegawa, Frusti, Tolentino, and Brown families. We remain eternally grateful for their unwavering love and support.
It was 43 years ago when Art, Deanna, Valerie along with his mother and father in law Edith and Ben Cipranic moved from Pittsburgh to Point Loma, CA where Art created his own business, Kelcco Company which he ran almost until his death. He served 4 years in the Navy at the young age of 18 & continued his service for 40+ years in the Air Force Reserves where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant.
Art had many past times as well, he was a passionate football, softball, lacrosse & wrestling referee for many years. On his many trips back to Pittsburgh he would conduct his own wrestling or football clinics in the stands to explain the rules to the parents.
Art was never at a loss for words and always enjoyed whatever he was doing at the time. His favorite saying was “too much fun” and that is the way he lived his life, to the absolute fullest.
