Astro Santos Jr.

Astro is survived by his wife, Patricia, of San Diego, California, his only child Todd, of San Diego, California, his only sister, Lucidea Barrera, of San Diego, California. He is survived by his many sisters and brothers’ in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Astrogildo Santos Sr. and Erna K Santos, of Simi Valley, California, his brother Rosendir Santos, of Simi Valley, California.

Astro Santos Jr. was born on May 11, 1948 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Erna and Astrogildo Santos, Sr. He graduated from secondary school in Brazil in 1966. He attended college in Brazil for Electronic Engineering. He legally immigrated to the United States in 1968 at the age of 19.

Along with his father, mother, sister and brother, they entered Miami International Airport, Florida, where they would then take Route 66 to begin their new lives in San Fernando Valley, California.

From a very early age, Astro was passionate about electronics. He was able to enjoy a full career and hobby in electronics. He was very creative in many areas of interests whether it was building his own electronic designs, or woodworking. He also enjoyed listening to classical music.

After marriage on Valentine’s Day in 1976, Astro and Patricia started their family in San Diego, California, where they shared their home with each other for over 46 years, and built a very full life together. Astro was a dedicated and loving husband/father with an enormous enthusiasm for life. He was funny, always loved a good joke, kind, loving, and exceptionally loyal. Even though he was a private person, he was very generous with his time. If anyone asked for his help, or saw anyone in need he would be there for them.

Viewing, funeral services, and reception are scheduled for 1/3/2023 beginning at 12:00 pm ending at 4:00 pm, located at The Large Chapel and adjacent reception room at El Camino Memorial, Sorrento Valley, at 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd. San Diego,
