Barbara Anne Coblentz

Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree at the District of Columbia’s Teacher’s College, in the early 50s. Barbara then earned a master’s at George Washington University in the late 50s. Barbara married fellow Richard Montgomery HS teacher, Dwight Coblentz in Rockville MD, on June 27, 1960.

She is survived by her husband Dwight, and their four sons: Steve David Carl Ken, all born in Evanston IL, while the family lived Glenview IL. She continued her teaching career after a move to Normal IL. In 1972 the family moved west, to Lakeside CA, where they lived for the next 50 years.

Barbara is survived by five grandchildren. Kai and Amaya, children of David and his wife Kris, of Los Alamos NM. Wyatt Winston and Chloe, children of Steve and his wife Lisa, of Ramona CA.

Barbara taught mathematics in the states of Washington DC, Maryland, Illinois, California. Barbara retired as a San Diego Community College mathematics teacher in the late 90's.

The number of dogs Barbara cared for is uncountable, and more importantly, unforgettable.
