Barbara Lou Sciarra was born on 11/28/34 in Hastings, Nebraska to William Wallace and Melvadean Mary Howell. She grew up in Holdredge, Nebraska, and then her family moved to California. She grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Fremont High School. She met Jim, and they married on 11/7/54. They had three children- Melanie, Michael, and Cynthia. They lived in Downey for many years, where she was involved as a homemaker, with PTA, and all of the kids’ activities. When Jim retired from the LAPD/LA District Attorney's office in 1998, they moved to Fallbrook, California, and have lived there since. Barbara is remembered for her keen intellect and wit and her concern and care for so many. She was amazing at memorizing facts, knew everyone's names, and even memorized their phone numbers and addresses. After a two-year illness, she departed this world to the next- early Thanksgiving morning, on her 90th birthday. She is survived by her husband James, her children, Melanie, Michael, and Cynthia, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and many, many, friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leighton and Keith. She is dearly loved and will be sorely missed. We hold her in our hearts and look forward to being reunited one day in heaven. She is with her Lord Jesus Christ.
