Brenda Pauline Steel-Schmidt

July 21st, 1952 - August 24th, 2025

Our beloved Brenda Pauline Steel-Schmidt returned to God on August 24th, 2025. Brenda was born July 21st, 1952 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She moved to Southern California shortly after her birth and grew up in a loving household with her brothers Harry and Kenneth, Sister Mary, and her parents John and Obera Pole in Lakeside, California. Brenda welcomed her only child, her son Johnny, into the world in 1971, and spent her life loving and raising him. Brenda’s priorities in life were her family, her friends, and her animals. Brenda Loved Life, and spent much time enjoying her life with her family and friends. She eventually settled into a career in Construction, as a Manager with Nielsen Construction, and later Douglas E. Barnhart Construction. Brenda found a rewarding career of building not only numerous projects in San Diego County, but also building many, many strong friendships with so many different people who she worked with. Those who knew her could never doubt her love of life, her loyalty to her friends, nor her her ability to fight for those she cared about. She moved to Las Vegas in 2001 with her husband Brian and continued to build a happy life as a construction consultant, later welcoming two grandchildren, Taylor and Christian, into her heart forever. Brenda always took up the mantle to take care of those she loved, and helped so many people throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her Parents John and Obera, her brother Harry, her sister Mary, and aunt Marjorie. She is survived by her husband Brian, her son Johnny, her Brother Kenneth, two beautiful grandchildren, Taylor and Christian, her nieces Jessi and Amanda, and many, many who knew and loved her. There could only be one Brenda, a force of nature, lover of life, protector to all she loved, and she will be forever missed.
