
Born April 26, 1975 in Overland Park, KS, Charissa attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, and a master’s degree from National University in San Diego.
A friendly and welcoming face to all who came in contact with her at the San Diego International Airport where she worked for the last seven years, Charissa spent her social time with her partner, family and friends. Charissa loved refereeing high school basketball, camping, sailing on San Diego Bay, and shooting photography around the community.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Steve and Lorraine Kolich of Kansas City, KS, and her maternal grandfather, Donald E Roepke of Waterville, KS. She is survived by her life-long partner, Cortney Reno of San Diego, her parents, Steve and Nina Kolich of Overland Park, KS, and her brother, Jeff Kolich, of San Diego. She also leaves behind her maternal grandmother, Ruthann Roepke, nine uncles, twelve aunts and numerous cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Bali Hai on Shelter Island, overlooking the ocean that she loved so much. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary to the American Cancer Society or St. Didacus Catholic Church, where private services will be held.
