I keep this at my desk and who would have thought I found your plastic eye droppers - I can still hear you saying in an accent " My eyes are dryer than the Kalahari"  and of course I laughed and laughed.. little did I know I would be using those eye drops a few years later.. see you again someday Charles.. sending heavenly hugs to you - Kimster

It's been years since I was in contact with you and now I know why after conducting a Google search.

We met in Thailand in 1994 and kept in touch throughout the years.  My most enjoyable memories are from the trip we took to Laos in 1998.

Our last emails were exchanged in Spring 2014 and you told me of your suffering.  

Five years after your passing, I hope you are at peace.  You spirit lives on in my memories.

February 23rd is Charles Birthday. I'm thinking of you, Brother.

Charlie,Charlie..I wish I could talk to you just one more time because I would tell you all the things I am writing here that we never tell each other until it is too late.

 I met you when you were 19. We were friends for over 40 years. Everyone in my Iife knows you, when I look around my house I see all the things you bought me, all  things I treasure. You were one of the most interesting people in my life, neurotic, hard to live with, but interesting and very funny.

We had an extreme relationship, we argued, we laughed, we cried and we analyzed everything. We traveled together, you even took me to Asia.
  We spent so many weekends, having dinner, exploring neighborhoods, movies, art and driving around listening to great music in your Corvette.

I loved you and I will miss you. You touched my life in a very special way.

Finally, peace and comfort in the arms of our Savior.

I'll miss our dinners together buddy. Missing you already. Out of pain, in Jesus' company. See ya soon bro.

Rest in Peace Charles. You will be missed by many. Always enjoyed a good conversation with you. I guess now they will be one sided. I met you 24 years ago last July, I still remember the day.See you on the other side, just not yet.

When I first met Charlie, he seemed like such a serious kinda guy.  Australia, Politics and the Pain were a few of the first conversations I had with him. 

Then came a garage get together, Charlie had this love for dogs.                                                       A shepherd dog in the neighborhood, named Tanner, had about the same color hair as he did.  Upon brushing the dog,  Charles took Tanners hair and placed it on his head.  It matched perfectly and made us laugh!  It was then spray glued on, which was even funnier! Those in the hood still talk about that night - It's a great Charlie moment, and there we're many, many more!

Here's to the man who put a little spark in all our lives.

We will miss you and Wilson, my friend.  Rest In Peace.

May God take this child. May his pain be gone. May he always know that on this earth and forever still, I held him close in my heart. I wish our dear Charlie peace.

They broke the mold when they made you Charles.The most unique person I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. You were a very generous friend. You left an impression on me I'll never forget. I'll see you on the other side Mr. Berg.

You will be missed by many.  Your close friendship improved my life in ways that can't be measured!  I will remember you for your brilliance and all of the great times brother.  Rest in peace.

Aw Charles- I have so much to say to you like always.. will miss talking over the phone and  miss you looking out for me like you would a sister. I have been laughing and crying the last few days just thinking of the funny and fun times we all had & how you are going be missed my dear friend. You were the kind of friend who was loyal to the end. By the way- No one could karaoke "King of The Road" quite like you. I pray that you have the peace you have always wanted. I knew Charles from the "Hood"  and from parties we went to there.  He was just a nice guy that we talked to at those parties.  Then there was a time that he needed some help and so did I.  So I cleaned his house a few times and helped him get to a couple of doctor appts.   That was right before he headed to California.  Always wished the best for him.  Now he will rest in peace.  Here's to a great guy and hope you can run around and have fun up there!
