

Daniel (Dan) was born and raised in Woodside, Long Island Co, New York and Astoria, Long Island New York. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS New Jersey, (BB 62) as Gunner’s Mate 2c. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal 9 stars.
After serving in WWII he attended and graduated Penn State University with an aeronautical engineering degree. He was employed with General Dynamics Astronautics, a division of General Dynamics Corporation. In 1963 he participated in a program completing 12 revolutions each minute in the pursuit of scientifc knowledge and was able to prove that Coriolis is something other than an equation in order to further advance the space program. Dan was also a business entrepreneur involved in Walden International wholesale toys and the Great Pumpkin Toy Store in La Jolla, CA as well as a Real Estate Broker and Court reporting.
Daniel is survived by his wife, his sister, son and daughter as well as his nephew and niece and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Daniel was very active in his church and assisted with many devotional programs during the years. He was actively involved in obtaining the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter to come to San Diego, under Bishop Brom’s request to establish St. Anne Catholic Church which is an Extra Ordinary Form Parish.
Dan was an avid reader, collecting more than 1,400 books in his library and an avid chess player. He also loved working on his Irish geneology gardening and walking.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
