Diane McLaren

Diane Elizabeth McLaren May 23, 1934-Jan 24, 2024 The family announces the passing of Diane Elizabeth (Sandefur) McLaren (89), on January 24, 2024, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Her passing followed a four-year battle with dementia. Diane was born in San Diego CA. on May 23, 1934 to Wilburn and Emma Sandefur, and was the eldest sister to Carole and Gloria. She grew up in Point Loma, where she attended Point Loma High School, and later Mesa Jr. College in San Diego. Diane went on to marry Jack Bartley in 1956 and had four children, Linda, Jim, Bruce and Marlene. In 1977, Diane married Bruce McLaren, adding two sons Scott and Robbie to the growing family. Diane dedicated her life to her family, whom she loved unconditionally. Diane loved to travel, camp, garden and had a passion for researching genealogy everywhere she traveled. Diane was the 12th generation Great-Granddaughter of American-Indian Princess, Pocahontas and English Merchant, John Rolfe. Diane is survived by her husband- Bruce, sister- Gloria, daughters - Linda and Marlene, sons- Jim, Bruce and Scott, her 16 Grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Diane will be held Saturday February 24, 2024 at El Camino Memorial Park, in San Diego (Sorento Valley).
