Donald R. Green
January 11, 1934 - April 9, 2025
Donald R. Green was an artist, a lover, and an adventurer. He skated and skied through his youth in Minnesota with his family of five siblings but found his way through the Navy to Japan and then back to California. This is what shaped his young life along with his pure joy in styling the hair of the top society in San Diego, building a house in Julian and loving his nieces, nephew, and the Bauer Boys.
In the early 90's, he met Bruce, and the adventures continued. Even more family (daughters and grandchildren) and endless construction, as they created a four-pronged life of: San Diego, Mexico, Desert and MotorHome. All complete with elegant parties with flowers and candles and “Perfect Rob Roy’s.”
Don was an inspiration for all as he battled and won countless health opportunities. Each instance was approached with unwavering confidence in his ability to recover. And he did!
He spent his final years with attentive caretakers and Bruce, Ellyn, and Margot. He became a fixture on one of his many scooters, zooming to chat with neighbors with dear little Pico on his lap. Trips to Mexico were a regular event until the very end and even a trip to Michigan transpired to see the fall leaves change.
We love you Don. We miss you.
Your daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, the Bauer boys, and a whole lot more.
