

Edgar Hautea Tablan, 65, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. Born on September 19, 1960, in Iloilo City, Philippines, Edgar was raised in Guam, where he graduated from George Washington High School in 1978.
Edgar proudly served in the United States Army for 25 years, retiring at the rank of sergeant first class. He lived a life defined by discipline, integrity, and service, continuing his career afterward as a federal employee.
He was a devoted husband to Maria Paz Tablan, a loving father to Edgar Tablan Jr. (EJ) and Earl Tablan, and a proud grandfather to Ezekiel Elliot Tablan. Edgar is also survived by his siblings: Indang, Lino, Glenn, and Danny, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Edgar had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. He loved to joke, tease, and make people laugh;especially by rooting against his loved ones favorite sports teams just so he could playfully remind them when they lost. He also enjoyed barbecuing, gardening, playing poker, traveling, watching NCIS, and spending quality time with his family. Visitation will be held at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, located at 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121, on January 30, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
A man of faith and honor, Edgar was a proud Army veteran and a member of the VA and NRA. He will be remembered as a strong provider, a loyal friend, a playful jokester, and a steady presence whose love will continue to guide his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the laughter he shared, and the family he loved so deeply.
