Epifanio Ocampo was born on March 30, 1936 in Los Angeles, California. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Michael Ocampo and his wife Sandra of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Dorothy Ballew and her husband John of Chula Vista, California and son, Charles Carbajal of San Diego, California; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a 4th one on the way; five brothers and two sisters as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Also his faithful and constant lap buddies Moses and Midget.
Epi was preceded in death by his wife Charline, as well as two brothers and one sister. Epi served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965, where he worked in the motor pool. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal as well as the Sharpshooter Medal (rifle).
He retired some 11 years ago from Solar Turbines after 25 years of employment. Epi, or Cookie as he was known by his family and friends was always smiling, laughing and joking around; as well as always being the life of any get-together.
Epi loved life, his family and his dogs. On March 20, 2012 he passed away from this life, peacefully and comfortably at his home in Chula Vista with his daughter Dorothy by his side.
The family of Epifanio Ocampo acknowledges,
with sincere appreciation, the comforting words,
thoughtful prayers, floral tributes and other expressions
of kindness throughout this most difficult time.
