Fanny was born in Vietnam on July 28, 1935 to Lo Kin In and Wong Ling Mei. She met her future husband, Paul Tang while teaching in elementary school in Hong Kong. They decided to get married in America. Paul moved first in 1964 to find a job and start his degree in mathematics. Then in the Spring of 1966, Fanny sailed to New York City to stay with relatives where she waited for Paul to meet her in the summer when they got married. Together they moved to Illinois so Paul could finish his degree. They had their daughter, Maria, while living in Bloomington, IL. After Paul received his Master’s degree in 1972, they moved to San Francisco where their son, Anthony was born.
Fanny held different positions in San Francisco. She taught in different preschools and daycare centers, worked as a bookkeeper at a bank in Chinatown, and taught ESL. Her most important job was being a homemaker and mom to her children. Fanny was a kind hearted, hard-working, and generous person. She loved cooking, making crafts, traveling, gardening, and reading. Most of all she loved her family and was dedicated to the upbringing, education, health and well-being of her husband, children and grandchildren.
Fanny is survived by her children, Maria and Anthony, her four grandchildren, Micayla, Ethan, Noah, and Micah, and five of her siblings.
