

Michael Gregory “Greg” Morris, 49, died May 30, 2012, at his home in Escondido, California. Born on August 15, 1962, in Bethesda, Maryland, Greg graduated from Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and attended Louisburg College and North Carolina State University, where he majored in Computer Science.
He spent over twenty years as a senior software developer, first in New Jersey then in Southern California, admired greatly for the creativity and imagination with which he used his considerable programming skills. From 1999 until his death, he was the Director of Information Technology Operations for First American Data Tree of Santa Ana, California.
Greg was an avid Chargers fan, and an accomplished and respected musician. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed playing trombone and singing in a variety of different musical settings, including jazz big bands, theatre pit orchestras, Dixieland bands, and German polka bands.
He is survived by his mother Audrey Morris of Spring Hill, Tennessee, his father and stepmother Tom and Cindy Morris of Charlotte, North Carolina, his brother Michael Morris of Hartford, Connecticut, nieces Melodie and Mandie Morris and their mother Nancy of West Hartford, Connecticut, uncle and aunt George and Carol Morris of Alpharetta, Georgia, cousins Larry Morris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mary Lee Braswell of Hoover, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11 at Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Mt. Abernathy Ave, San Diego, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cff.org).
