We are sad to report that we have lost one of our own at HeartLine. We lost our James. He died last Tuesday evening of natural causes in his home in Oklahoma City. James Rosa was our Database HL211Day14P-41Coordinator, and our friend, and he will be sorely missed. James, a self-confessed “data nerd,” loved his work with HeartLine’s resources. He managed all of the information available to our callers, worked with other agencies to regularly verify that the information was correct, and he ran reports. The word “reports” was practically synonymous with “James” around here. But he never forgot the caller’s perspective. James could always see the people behind the data. James walked in many worlds, and his life experience gave him the ability to see others’ point of view, always, and to understand and encourage them. He embodied compassionate, non-judgmental listening.
He also had an abiding love of Starbucks, stocking up on Christmas Blend each season so that he and his family could drink it year-round. He was a Green Straw Evangelist who could always tell you what was happening with the mermaid. His first question to new employees at HeartLine was always, “Do you like Starbucks?”
Our thoughts and prayers are with James’ family.
Blessed are those who died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.
Eternal rest grant James, O Lord.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
