

Jimmy was born in Laramie Wyoming on August 4, 1942. He was the youngest of four boys born to Neils and Ellen Marie Jensen of Denmark.
Jimmy spent his growing years hiking, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Navy as an advisor stationed on a Vietnamese Island with two other advisors. For this assignment he learned to speat Vietnamese. That one assignment lasted for a year. He completed active duty in San Diego and then joined the Naval Reserves, serving until retiring as a Commander in 1989.
Jim remained in San Diego and soon met and married Linda. Linda had a 5 year old daughter, Laura, providing them with a ready made family. They decided to build a new home. They found a lot with an ocean view in La Jolla. Jim designed their home and it was soon built. Jim joined the San Diego Yacht Club and they bought a Catalina 30 sailboat. Jimmy formed the Catalina 30 fleet, in San Diego, which brought owners and families together for fun times and enjoyable events including annual trips to Catalina. Boating became a way of life for them. Most social events and activities were tied to boating.
Jim received his Architects License in 1980. He specialized in Medical Architecture, and worked for UCSD designing labs on campus and various facilities at University Hospital. Jim left UCSD and took a job with the U.S.Navy overseeing Naval medical facility's on the West Coast. He retiring in 2005.
Jim and Linda found a love of cruising on the larger Cruise Ship's. They were fortunate enough to take several wonderful trips, visiting much of the world.
Jim passed away peacefully, at home, from Cancer of the esophagus.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, and step daughter, Laura. He's survived by his wife of 52 years.
He never knew a stranger and was a great friend to many.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
