My husband and I were neighbors of Margarita and Joaquin's for many years. One day as we were passing their condo Joaquin stopped us and asked if we would come inside for a minute. He wanted to show us the certificate that he received when he became a citizen of the United States. He was so incredibly proud and wanted to share that with us.

Over the years I often met Joaquin when I was out walking in the neighborhood. He was never without a smile and I always felt he was happy to see me as I was to see and say hello to him

I also remember so well how he would help his wife on and off the bus or bring her out to enjoy the sun for an hour or so.

He will be missed by his neighbors in Pacific Beach.

I love you Grandpa you always made me smile.

In honor of you dear Grandpa, I planted a beautiful tree that will  live for ages to come. Your memory will live forever.

Thank you for sharing your son with me. Thanks for all the beautiful  memories we shared together. You were a great role model to your family and friends.  You will be missed dearly.  You are now in a better place together with your wife, your son and your loved ones.  Your family adores you.  Rest in peace for eternity.

Thank you for sharing your love for the game of Soccer.  You were so right, Soccer is the game of life.
