John Vega Garcia was born on February 8th,1943 in Sinaloa, Mexico and passed away on January 27th, 2021 in San Diego, California and is under the care of El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley. John is preceded in death by his daughter Amelia, survived by his loving wife of 55 years Ana Garcia and children John R. Garcia and Isaura A. Garcia. John was a proud grandfather of Juan-Carlos Garcia, Julianna Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Luis Garcia and Armando Garcia.
John came to the United States around the age of seven, became a U.S. citizen and married Ana in 1965. John was a successful athlete and student. He played varsity football and varsity Track and Field for Carlsbad High School. He also received awards and recognition from Bank Of America and Future Farmers of America (FFA) for his studies in Agriculture. John's studies would soon lead him to his 50 year career in Landscaping in which he became a contractor and worked all they way until the age of 72.
John was a strong man who always stood strong by his morals and values. He was tough on the outside but very loving, loyal and accepting on the inside. John was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed.
