

He was born on February 25, 1945 in Southgate, Kentucky.
He entered the Marine Corps in 1963and served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1967.
He worked in construction most of his life and retired as a superintendent for FJ Willert in 2007. He was in charge of many projects in San Diego, including Petco Park and extending the trolley line to Mission Valley, as well as working on the last leg of I-15.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Josie) Jurado, his sons Angelo, Paul, and John Anthony Fehler as well as his daughter-in-law, his two grandchildren, Mia and Julius Fehler, and brother, Finis and sister-in-law Debbie Fehler, nieces and nephews, plus his step daughter, Oralia Jurado, step-granddaughter Cassandra Beltran, and step-grandson, Abraham Beltran.
John was known to be a hard worker, a problem solver, and a generous, giving man.
He was proud of his sons and was always ready to help them in any way he could.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #244, where he served as a Trustee, Secretary, and Treasurer. He spent many hours volunteering at the Eagles using his expertise in construction to help accomplish many projects there.
He loved making tamales at Christmas time with Josie's family in Los Banos.
In his spare time, he loved going dancing at the Eagles.
He loved traveling to Mexico and enjoyed the people, food and Mariachi music.
A funeral service for John will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr., San Diego, CA 92122.
