December 4, 1929- December 7, 2023
Loving mother and grandmother Jean Holsinger passed away on December 7th, 2023. She joined her husband of over 50 years Marvin William “Bill” Holsinger who proceeded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Holsinger and beloved grandchildren Jeremy and Hailey Sanders. Jean was born and raised in Orion Illinois, a small farming community in western Illinois. She moved with beloved friends from her hometown to Orange County CA in her early 20s, and she remained living in California for the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Orion High School, and attended courses at Augustana College, UCLA, and Riverside City College. She married Bill Holsinger at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside, where they settled and raised their family. Jean worked in accounting and data processing, eventually serving as a bookkeeper for the Riverside Unified School District. She and Bill were very active in their local Masonic Lodge as well as the California Masonic Grand Lodge where Bill eventually served as Grand Master. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A Midwesterner at heart, Jean embraced her life in California with a love of going to the beach, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and eating avocados. Her English toffee, made for the holidays, was legendary. She moved from southern California north to San Jose with Bill in 2006 to be close to their family and was an active grandma who enjoyed exploring all that the San Francisco Bay area had to offer and being with her grandchildren. Her smiling face and kind manner to everyone will be sorely missed.
