January 12, 1969 – March 29, 2025
Lisa Ann Jaffe was born on January 12, 1969, in San Diego, California, to Larry
and Jane Jaffe. A bright and determined student, she graduated from
Christian High School in 1986 and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education.
Lisa found deep purpose and joy in her years as a teacher, where she touched
countless lives with her warmth, patience, and dedication.
Lisa was known for her adventurous spirit and inner strength. Two transformative
Outward Bound wilderness experiences were pivotal in shaping her resilience.
Long before facing her own health challenges, Lisa had already proven
her strength and determination.
In 2002, Lisa was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, Ataxia. Despite the
physical challenges she endured for over two decades, Lisa approached life with
grace, courage, and her signature radiant smile. Her perseverance was a source
of inspiration to all who knew her.
Lisa had a deep love for animals, especially horses. She cherished summers spent
at dude ranches, where she could ride and connect with the animals she loved so much.
She also found joy in the companionship of her beloved
pet rabbits—Grigio, Calico, and Mr. Daisy.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Jane Jaffe; her brother, Steve Jaffe and his wife, Amy;
and her cherished niece and nephew, Grace and Dylan. She is also lovingly
remembered by her aunt, Ann Foster, and many dear friends, including the
Penner family, the Ackermans, Nilo Shefa, and Qudsia Dost.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Larry Jaffe.
Her memory will be carried forward with love, admiration, and deep gratitude by all
who were fortunate enough to know her.
