
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wood; two sons, Larry Wood and John Wood; three grandchildren, Natasha Wood, John Wood Jr., and Evan Wood; and three great grandchildren, Elijah, Jeremiah, and Abigail Rose Wood. She was loved and beloved by her husband of almost 70 years, Randolph C. Wood, who passed away in 2011.
Lois Wood had a gift for bringing joy to those around her. Her thoughtful ways, endearing personality, and lyrical speaking voice made a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was a deeply intelligent and insightful woman and a great lover of art, literature, and nature. A gifted writer and storyteller, she documented every major family event and wrote beautiful stories about her life experiences. Her artistry was reflected in everything she did—her beautifully handwritten letters, her tastefully decorated home, her great sense of style and design.
Lois Wood was born in Riddleton, Tennessee, February 4, 1920, the daughter of a grocer and a seamstress. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Middle Tennessee State Teacher’s College and went on to become a 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She was a unique and unforgettable woman whose beauty shone in the countless acts of kindness she showed to others throughout her life. She will be greatly missed and always cherished by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched.
